What we mean by team building

Not a talk, not a trust-fall. A case your team has to crack together.

Most team building quietly assumes a group of eight in a function room. When the brief says the whole department, or the entire company, the usual ideas fall apart. Our version is a live escape game, run by costumed facilitators, that plays the same across 10 people or a thousand. Everyone gets a role, the clock is real, and the win is shared. That is what people carry back to the office the next week.

Why it works

What a shared case does to a team.

Case findings
  1. Bonding and camaraderie

Nothing builds a team like genuine, face-to-face problem solving under a shared deadline.

  2. Critical thinking

Puzzles push people to think differently, and to think together, when the clock is running.

  3. Leadership and communication

Someone steps up, information starts flowing, and the team learns how it actually works best.

  4. Morale that lasts

People leave buzzing, and the shared win carries back into the office the next week.

We had a great experience with The Escape Artist. They offered a variety of well-planned packages for us to choose from and were very accommodating with advance bookings. Their briefing was clear and helpful, and everything went smoothly on the day of our event.

The puzzles were mostly logical and very interesting with a good mixture of keys, locks and mechanisms which we enjoyed. The space was also sufficient and clues largely clear enough to proceed. The staff was also very helpful and patient. We had a wonderful experience!

Had a great time with my friends... The team was very patient and walked us through the remaining puzzles that we did not manage to complete after our 1 hour was up. The room itself was great, a lot of details went into the decor and the clues were all in good condition.

Good questions

Team building in Singapore, answered.

What is a good team building activity in Singapore for a large group?

A facilitated offsite escape game works well for large Singapore teams because it runs the same experience in parallel across many groups, from 10 people up to more than 1,000. Everyone plays at the same venue on the same day, so no department has to sit it out. It suits company D&Ds, department offsites, conferences and family days.

How do I organise team building in Singapore?

Settle three things first: your headcount, a rough date, and whether you want it at your own office or at a Singapore venue. Send those to us and our events team replies within one business day with a tailored proposal covering the game, venue, facilitators and any catering, transport or prizes. You confirm the date, and we run the day.

How much does team building in Singapore cost?

The total is a game fee plus venue admission and venue fees. The game fee is a fixed fee plus SGD 20 per person: self-guided games start at SGD 300 fixed, fully facilitated immersive games at SGD 1,100 fixed. For larger self-guided groups the effective rate works out from about SGD 23 per person. We are non-GST registered, and large-group discounts are available.

Can team building run at our own office?

Yes. Several of our games run at any indoor venue, including your office or a function room. Others are set at Singapore venues such as River Wonders, Fort Siloso and Battlebox at Fort Canning. Tell us the space you have, and we will match a game to it.

Why choose an escape game over other team building activities?

An escape game gives everyone a shared problem and a running clock, which is what actually gets a team delegating, communicating and thinking together. Unlike a talk or a buffet, no one is a spectator. We have run these for corporate, government and education teams across Singapore since 2013.
